FedEx Philippines has moved to formalize plans to expand its gateway facility at Clark, Pampanga, framing the project as a strategic response to surging trade and e-commerce flows across Southeast Asia.
The announcement follows a statement from the Bases Conversion and Development Authority confirming that FedEx plans to scale up operations at the Clark Aviation Hub.
The company said preparatory work began last year, anchored by a lease agreement signed in 2024 that reinforced the Philippines’ role within FedEx’s regional network.
“The Philippines plays a vital role in our Southeast Asia strategy, with the region serving as a growth engine for FedEx,” the company said, noting that Clark sits at the center of key air and ground routes.
FedEx said it is now transitioning from planning to formal implementation, signaling a more concrete timeline for the expansion. The project is intended to increase gateway capacity, strengthen transshipment capabilities, and improve the handling of rising shipment volumes moving across the region.
The expanded facility is expected to support faster processing of e-commerce parcels, higher freight traffic, and specialized shipments, while boosting operational efficiency and network reliability. FedEx positioned the investment as part of a broader effort to build a more resilient and flexible regional supply chain.
By upgrading its Philippine gateway, the company aims to enhance connectivity for local exporters and importers and deepen intra-Asia trade links.
“This expansion represents a strategic investment that strengthens our broader network infrastructure and supports continued growth across Southeast Asia,” FedEx said.
FedEx added that the Clark expansion underscores its long-term commitment to the Philippines as a logistics hub, enabling businesses to connect more efficiently with markets across Asia and beyond in the coming years.
