iSON Tower brings next-generation connection to ecozones

iSON Tower Ltd. Inc. is moving to modernize telecommunications infrastructure across four major Philippine economic zones, following a new partnership with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority to strengthen digital connectivity in key industrial hubs.

The tower infrastructure firm signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PEZA on February 3, 2026, setting the framework for the rollout and enhancement of telecom facilities in the Baguio City, Cavite, Mactan, and Pampanga economic zones. These locations will serve as pilot sites aimed at improving network reliability, speed, and capacity for locator companies operating within the zones.

For iSON Tower, the initiative positions telecommunications as a core enabler of economic resilience.

Chairman Vivek Gupta said the company is committed to delivering resilient, scalable, and inclusive digital infrastructure that supports business continuity and aligns with national growth priorities. He emphasized that reliable connectivity has become a baseline requirement for attracting high-quality investments, particularly from technology-driven and export-oriented industries.

PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga said the collaboration supports the agency’s broader goal of future-proofing economic zones. He noted that enhanced telecommunications infrastructure plays a critical role in improving investor confidence and operational efficiency, helping position the Philippines as a more competitive destination for strategic and long-term investments.

The partnership builds on momentum generated during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s 2025 state visit to India, which opened new avenues for cooperation in digital infrastructure. It also aligns with the government’s National Broadband Plan, which prioritizes expanded fiber-optic networks and wider 5G deployment to accelerate digital transformation across the country.

As ecozones continue to evolve beyond traditional manufacturing, demand for high-capacity and reliable networks is rising. By targeting key economic zones as pilot areas, iSON Tower and PEZA aim to create replicable models for telecom upgrades nationwide, supporting a more connected, competitive, and digitally ready Philippine economy.
