    Watsons Philippines bags 5 wins in Anvil

    Watsons Philippines just turned recognition into a masterclass in modern PR. At the 61st Anvil Awards, the retailer clinched five trophies—two Gold, three Silver—proving that purpose-led storytelling can sell, scale, and still serve the public good.

    Operated by Watsons Personal Care Stores (Phils.), Inc., a joint venture between the SM Group and Hong Kong–based A.S. Watson & Co., the company dominated major categories and even scored a shortlist for the coveted Grand Anvil for PR Programs and Marketing.

    The standout was a Gold Anvil for “Together Raising Awareness on Kids’ Diabetes” under Advocacy and Public Awareness. Through its #Type1Story campaign, Watsons partnered with medical experts and advocates to demystify Type 1 Diabetes among Filipino children. The result: stigma reduced, conversations started, and families nudged toward early diagnosis, with reach and behavior change extending well beyond store aisles.

    Another Gold went to “Summer starts at WATSONS, Ready for fun araw-araw kahit saan!” for PR Program Marketing and Brand Communication. Equal parts sunscreen smarts and lifestyle flair, the campaign blended sun care education, sports collaborations, on-ground activations, and punchy digital content—earning a Grand Anvil shortlist and serious brand heat.

    Three Silver Anvils rounded out the haul, recognizing the HWB Awards 2025 campaign, the Watsons Diabetes Educator Program with Diabetes Philippines, and experiential PR tools that strengthened partner engagement.
