Globe taps Confluent to accelerate enterprise AI shift

Globe Business has formed a strategic alliance with Confluent to help Philippine enterprises speed up artificial intelligence (AI) adoption through real-time data streaming.

The partnership aims to modernize how businesses manage and use data by moving away from siloed, static systems toward real-time intelligence. By offering Confluent’s fully managed data streaming platform through Globe’s local Virtual Private Cloud, companies can access enterprise-grade tools without building complex infrastructure themselves.

As a managed service provider, Globe Business will deliver Confluent’s complete platform, including unified Apache Kafka and Apache Flink, as a turnkey solution. This setup is designed to help enterprises—especially those in highly regulated industries—modernize operations while cutting total cost of ownership for Kafka deployments by up to 40 percent.

Globe Business said the partnership supports its goal of strengthening the country’s digital backbone and enabling local companies to innovate at scale. By ensuring secure and compliant real-time data processing, the initiative is expected to improve customer experience and boost competitiveness.

The move comes as digital payments in the Philippines continue to grow. According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, digital retail payments now account for 57.4 percent of total transaction volume. Real-time data processing has become critical for use cases such as fraud detection in financial services and personalized engagement in retail.

Confluent noted that data streaming is increasingly seen as key to AI adoption. Its research shows that 58 percent of organizations in Asia-Pacific view data streaming as a primary enabler of AI. By feeding AI systems with live enterprise data, companies can build predictive tools that respond instantly to market changes and customer behavior.
