PFI Group launches Capital Brew, blending coffee, culture and financial conversations

The Philippines First Insurance Group (PFI Group) has introduced a new way of talking about money — over coffee.

On February 10, the company officially opened Capital Brew, a café designed to make conversations about insurance, investments and financial planning feel less formal and more approachable. Instead of holding discussions inside traditional offices, PFI Group is encouraging clients and financial agents to connect in a relaxed café setting.

The concept was inspired by findings from the “PhilLife Meter: Feeling the Insurance Pulse of Pinoy Gen Y and Z,” a study that examined how young Filipinos engage with financial services. The research showed that 58% rely on financial agents as their main source of financial information, while 50% would directly approach an insurance agent when considering insurance. It also found that 72% prefer face-to-face consultations, and 43% favor meeting in a comfortable setting.

These insights suggest that while digital platforms continue to grow, personal interaction remains important — especially when people feel at ease.

Located at Filinvest One Building in Northgate Cyberzone, Alabang, Capital Brew serves premium coffee and pastries while providing a welcoming space for clients and financial advisors to discuss long-term plans without pressure.

“Capital Brew was designed to meet people where they are,” said PFI Group President and CEO Jaeger Tanco. “Financial decisions are personal. By creating a comfortable and familiar environment, we allow those conversations to happen more naturally.”

Beyond one-on-one consultations, the café also plans to host community events and informal discussions focused on financial wellness. By blending lifestyle and finance, PFI Group hopes to remove the intimidation often linked to money matters and encourage more Filipinos to take charge of their financial future.

The space is also open to coffee lovers looking to relax, whether alone or with friends — proving that meaningful conversations about money can begin with something as simple as a cup of coffee.
