Prime Media Holdings Inc. has a new man at the helm, and he comes armed with case law, courtroom polish, and close to three decades of corporate savvy.
At a board meeting held on Wednesday, Feb. 18, directors appointed Atty. Dennis P. Manalo as regular director, chairman and president of the company. He will also chair the executive committee and serve as Prime Media’s representative to Media Serbisyo Production Corp..
The move places a seasoned legal strategist at the forefront of a listed media firm navigating an increasingly competitive and highly regulated landscape.
Manalo brings nearly 30 years of experience spanning private practice and corporate advisory work. A management graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, he earned his Juris Doctor with honors from the Ateneo de Manila Law School and placed 15th in the 1996 Bar Examinations, an early signal of the analytical precision that would shape his career.
He began his legal journey at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan before moving to Siguion Reyna Montecillo & Ongsiako Law Offices, where he rose from associate to partner and handled complex, high stakes matters across industries. In 2014, he founded the Dennis P. Manalo Law Office, which he continues to lead.
For Prime Media, the appointment signals a tilt toward disciplined governance and sharper strategic execution. In an industry where content may be king but compliance is queen, installing a battle tested lawyer in the corner office suggests the company is gearing up for both creative expansion and careful navigation of regulatory terrain.
Investors will be watching how legal rigor translates into ratings and returns.
