Prepaid fiber drives Globe’s broadband expansion

Globe At Home, the home broadband arm of Globe Telecom, is expanding its fiber footprint to bring faster and more reliable internet to more Filipino households.

The company said it is focusing on affordable and flexible options to make high-speed internet more accessible, turning what was once seen as a luxury into an everyday necessity for families.

In 2025, Globe’s home broadband business generated P24 billion in revenues, driven mainly by its fiber services. Fiber accounted for 91 percent of total home revenues last year, up from 87 percent in 2024, helping offset the decline in legacy and fixed wireless services.

Globe’s total broadband subscriber base grew to 2.1 million by end-2025, from 1.7 million the previous year. Fixed wired customers increased by 40 percent year-on-year, reflecting stronger demand for stable, high-speed connections as more households rely on the internet for work, school and entertainment.

Powering growth in the mass market is GFiber Prepaid, now the country’s top and fastest-growing prepaid fiber service. Its subscriber base reached over 820,000 by end-2025, offering families quality internet without long-term contracts.

In September 2025, Globe also introduced the Globe At Home 5G WiFi Loop, a plug-and-play device that delivers fiber-like speeds with unlimited access at home or on the go. The portable device features an Android touchscreen interface and built-in speakers, designed to support the always-connected lifestyle of today’s consumers.

Globe president and CEO Carl Cruz said the company’s strong 2025 performance positions it for further growth in 2026, with plans to expand GFiber Prepaid and Globe At Home 5G WiFi services to reach more communities nationwide.
