Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has marked a major manufacturing milestone with the rollout of its 900,000th Mitsubishi L300, underscoring more than four decades of local vehicle assembly and steady production growth.
First assembled in the Philippines in 1983, the L300 has become one of the country’s most enduring commercial nameplates, serving small and medium enterprises, logistics providers and fleet operators across industries.
The latest milestone highlights MMPC’s sustained output, driven by disciplined manufacturing systems and long-running process improvements at its local plant.
The company attributed the achievement to consistent market demand for its locally assembled completely knocked-down (CKD) models, supported by ongoing kaizen initiatives spearheaded by its Manufacturing Division. These continuous improvement programs have focused on streamlining production lines, tightening quality control and boosting operational efficiency across all CKD units.
“The 900,000-unit production milestone of the Mitsubishi L300 reflects the dedication of our people and our commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing,” said MMPC president and chief executive officer Ritsu Imaeda. He added that teamwork and adherence to global manufacturing standards have enabled the company to maintain reliable output while meeting evolving customer requirements.
Known for its durability and cargo versatility, the L300 remains a backbone of day-to-day commerce, providing cost-efficient mobility for businesses that depend on dependable transport solutions.
MMPC said it intends to further strengthen its manufacturing capabilities while maintaining stringent quality standards, positioning the L300 and future models to respond to shifting mobility needs in the Philippine market.
