The Philippine Federation of Memorial, Pension, and Education Plan Companies, Inc. (PFPMEP) stressed the growing role of the pre-need industry in protecting Filipino families as it successfully concluded the 25th Pre-Need Consciousness Week earlier this month.
With the theme “Pre-Need: Serbisyong May Pusong Mapaglingkod,” this year’s observance delivered a strong message: planning ahead is not just a financial move — it is an act of responsibility and compassion. Pre-need firms nationwide joined forces with the Insurance Commission to intensify public awareness about securing memorial, education, and pension plans in advance.
The celebrations opened with a Thanksgiving Mass in Makati City and continued with an outreach program in Quezon City, reflecting the industry’s commitment to service beyond business. A bowling tournament in San Juan further showcased solidarity among member companies, reinforcing the idea that a united industry is better equipped to serve the public.
The culminating lunch forum at EDSA Shangri-La gathered top executives and regulators, including Insurance Commissioner Reynaldo Averilla Regalado and leaders from major pre-need providers such as St. Peter Life Plans, Inc. and Philplans First, Inc.. Their presence signaled strong regulatory support and industry alignment in upholding consumer protection and financial stability.
Industry leaders emphasized that pre-need planning has become increasingly vital as more Filipinos seek financial security amid rising costs and economic uncertainty. By locking in services early, families are shielded from sudden expenses and emotional strain during life’s most difficult moments.
The federation stressed that its silver milestone is more than a celebration — it is a renewed call to action. As Pre-Need Consciousness Week marks 25 years, the industry reaffirmed its commitment to responsible service, public education, and safeguarding the future of Filipino families through preparedness rooted in empathy.
