Universal Robina Corp. (URC) has earned national recognition in Malaysia after two of its leading brands won honors at the 2025 Putra Brand Awards, highlighting strong consumer trust and growing corporate momentum in the country’s competitive snack market.
Cloud 9 received a Silver award in the food category at the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2025, while Munchy’s secured a Bronze award in the same category at the Putra Brand Awards 2025.
The Putra Brand Awards and Putra Aria Brand Awards are among Malaysia’s most established brand recognition platforms. Organized by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) with industry partners, the awards are based on a nationwide consumer-voted survey involving tens of thousands of Malaysians. Winners are determined by public perception and brand preference across multiple categories.

URC chief marketing officer Karen Ong said the awards reflect the trust Malaysian consumers place in the company’s brands and recognized the efforts of employees and partners across URC and URMunchy’s.
The recognition comes as URC strengthens its innovation footprint in Malaysia as part of its broader Southeast Asia growth strategy. In March 2025, the company opened a new research and development center in Pasir Gudang, Johor, aimed at accelerating product and packaging innovation for the regional market. The facility is equipped with advanced testing technologies and is designed to improve cross-functional collaboration and speed up time-to-market.
Founded in 1991 and acquired by URC in 2021, Munchy’s is Malaysia’s leading biscuit brand, with products available in more than 20,000 outlets nationwide. Cloud 9, part of URC’s regional snacks portfolio, continues to expand its market share across Southeast Asia.
The latest wins add to URC’s growing list of regional accolades, reinforcing its brand strength, consumer trust, and competitive position in key Southeast Asian markets.
