GCash, Careem Pay team up to accelerate money transfers in UAE for Filipinos

GCash has partnered with Careem Pay to make sending money from the UAE to the Philippines faster, easier, and more convenient for overseas Filipinos. The collaboration was formalized at Careem’s Dubai headquarters on Monday.

Through the direct wallet-to-wallet integration, users can now transfer funds straight to GCash wallets in the Philippines, bypassing traditional bank delays and the need to visit physical remittance centers. Transfers are credited within minutes, giving recipients immediate access to funds.

“Sending money home is one of the most meaningful things our customers do with Careem Pay. For many Filipino expats, it’s about supporting loved ones, covering school fees, or helping parents with everyday expenses,” said Arjun Varma, general manager for GCash International.

Mohammad El Saadi, vice president of Careem Pay, added, “By integrating directly with GCash and offering cash pickup at nearly 15,000 locations, we’ve made the process simpler, faster, and more reliable, with most transfers now reaching families in the Philippines within minutes.”

Filipinos in the UAE can start sending money by downloading the latest Careem app, selecting Pay, and following the steps under the Send Abroad tab, ensuring a smooth, secure, and near-instant remittance experience.
