PLDT Home ramps up fiber prepaid expansion as digital demand surges

PLDT Home is expanding its digital home services and speeding up the rollout of its fiber prepaid offers to reach more households, the company said Monday.

The broadband arm of PLDT Inc. is focusing on digital services as families spend more time — and money — on streaming, smart home devices, and online gaming.

PLDT Home said more customers are signing up for bundled plans that include streaming platforms such as Netflix, Cignal, and HBO Max. These bundles aim to give subscribers more value while encouraging them to stay on higher-tier plans.

Under its “Home Life” lineup, the company is also promoting mesh WiFi systems and home security kits as add-ons that improve internet coverage and safety at home. For gaming households, PLDT Home offers IGV Game Pass, which provides access to more than 200 PC games, creating another service option for subscribers.

At the same time, PLDT Home is expanding its Fiber Prepaid service to attract budget-conscious customers. The prepaid option allows families to pay only when they need internet access, offering flexibility without long-term contracts. The service runs on the same fiber network as its postpaid plans, which continue to target heavier internet users who want bundled services and extra features.

For subscribers, this means more choices — from flexible prepaid plans to premium bundles that combine fast internet with entertainment and smart home tools.

PLDT Home expects its prepaid fiber segment to post strong growth in 2026, driven by steady demand and sustainable returns.

As of end-December 2025, the PLDT Group’s fiber network covered 1.25 million cable kilometers locally and internationally.

In 2025, PLDT Home reported P61 billion in service revenues, up 3 percent from a year earlier. Fiber revenues rose 6 percent to P59.4 billion, accounting for 98 percent of total segment revenues. The company added 392,000 new fiber subscribers during the year, bringing its total fiber customer base to 3.76 million.
