Lender EastWest Bank has added Google Pay access for its debit cardholders, allowing customers to tap and pay using Android phones and compatible wearables in stores locally and overseas.
With the update, EastWest debit cards can now be linked to Google Pay for faster and more secure transactions without needing a physical card. Payments are processed through Visa Inc., giving cardholders access to millions of merchants worldwide.
Customers can also manage their debit cards through the EasyWay App, including locking and unlocking their cards for added security and control.
EastWest said the move is part of its push to expand digital payment options and make everyday banking more convenient. The integration supports growing consumer demand for contactless payments and mobile wallets.
Holders of the EastWest Visa Infinite Debit Card will continue to receive premium travel perks, including a low 1.7% foreign exchange fee, waived domestic ATM withdrawal fees, free international ATM withdrawals under a promo running until March 31, 2026, and round-the-clock Visa Infinite Concierge service.
The rollout strengthens EastWest’s digital banking offerings while giving customers a more practical and secure way to pay, whether shopping at home or traveling abroad.
