Philippine and South Korea companies sealed seven major deals on Wednesday, signaling a big leap in bilateral economic cooperation.
The agreements, formalized at the Philippines–Korea Business Forum at Conrad Hotel, span shipbuilding, nuclear energy, aerospace, critical minerals, retail, and health and wellness.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung attended the forum, underscoring the high-level commitment behind the pacts.
In energy, Manila Electric Co., Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., and the Export-Import Bank of Korea signed on for collaboration, while skills development in shipbuilding will be boosted through a partnership between the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and HD Heavy Industries.
Retail and consumer-focused deals include S&R with Samyang Foods Inc. and Belo Medical Group with CERAGEM. In medical technology, Innomedics Trading Corp. partnered with JETEMA to expand healthcare solutions.
Aerospace and critical minerals sectors are also seeing partnerships, bringing together the Philippine Space Agency, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Cagayan Economic Zone Authority, Perigee Aerospace Inc., and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau with Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corp.
Marcos praised the deals as a sign of “our private sectors’ enthusiasm to deepen strong economic relations,” noting they would generate projects, investments, and livelihoods across both countries.
“These agreements build on a long-standing partnership anchored in mutual respect,” Marcos said, expressing confidence they will help both nations achieve a competitive, self-sustaining future.
The forum marks a renewed drive for strategic cooperation between the Philippines and Korea, reinforcing industrial, technological, and consumer links while signaling robust opportunities for private sector growth and regional economic integration.
