Victor Lee Meng Teck leads Security Bank as president and CEO

Victor Lee Meng Teck has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Security Bank Corporation, assuming the role in January 2026. Based in the Philippines, he now leads the bank’s overall strategy, operations, and growth initiatives in one of Southeast Asia’s key financial markets.

Before joining Security Bank, Lee served in several senior leadership roles at CIMB Group. In 2025, he was chief executive officer for growth markets. From 2020 to 2025, he was chief executive officer of CIMB Singapore, where he focused on expanding the bank’s commercial banking business and strengthening its regional presence across ASEAN.

He also held concurrent leadership roles within CIMB’s regional operations, including CEO of Group Commercial Banking and CEO of Group Transaction Banking based in Kuala Lumpur. In these positions, he oversaw banking services for small and medium enterprises and mid-sized corporations while advancing digital banking and regional growth strategies.

Earlier in his career, Lee was executive vice president at Fullerton Financial Holdings from 2016 to 2019, where he managed investments in banks and financial services companies across Southeast Asia, China, India, and the Middle East, and worked closely with boards and chief executives on business strategy and performance.

Prior to that, he served as managing director at United Overseas Bank between 2012 and 2015, leading group business banking across Southeast Asia and serving on key risk and capital committees. From 2006 to 2012, he was managing director at Standard Chartered Bank, where he led SME banking and retail distribution channels across markets including Singapore, Taiwan, and China.

Lee earlier worked at Citibank as director from 1999 to 2005, focusing on strategy, product development, and distribution for business banking within the consumer and wholesale banking groups. His banking career began with roles at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as senior manager in corporate banking from 1996 to 1999 and at DBS Bank as treasurer from 1994 to 1996.

Lee has more than three decades of experience in retail banking, commercial banking, microfinance, digital banking, and risk management, and has worked across multiple international markets including Southeast Asia, North Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. He has also participated in board-level directorships and major risk and compliance committees in global banking institutions.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Materials Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and completed executive education at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
