Australia offers prestigious scholarships for Filipinos for 2027 master’s studies

Applications are now open for the prestigious Australia Awards Scholarships for master’s degree programs that will begin in 2027, offering Filipinos the chance to study in Australia with full financial support.

Marc Innes-Brown, Australia’s Ambassador to the Philippines, is encouraging emerging Filipino leaders from government, the private sector, and civil society to apply for the highly competitive program.

The call comes as Australia and the Philippines mark 80 years of diplomatic relations, highlighting the long-standing partnership between the two countries.

“As Australia and the Philippines celebrate 80 years of diplomatic relations this year, we remain committed to supporting the next generation of Filipino leaders through this program,” Ambassador Innes-Brown said.

The Australia Awards Scholarships provide Filipinos access to world-class education in Australia. The program covers major expenses, including:

 • Round-trip international travel

 • Tuition fees

 • Living allowances

 • Health insurance

 • Academic support and tutorial assistance

A key component of the scholarship is the ReEntry Action Plan, which ensures scholars apply what they learned abroad to development efforts back home.

Priority fields for Filipino scholars include:

 • Agriculture and natural resources

 • Climate change

 • Cybersecurity

 • Education and governance

 • Health and justice

 • Maritime security

 • Mining and energy

 • Peace and conflict resolution

 • Trade and economics

 • Gender-inclusive development and capacity building

Since 2004, more than 1,500 Filipino scholars have completed the program and returned to the Philippines. Many now serve in leadership roles across government agencies, businesses, universities, and civil society organizations.

Applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships are open until 30 April 2026 through the official website of the Australia Awards Philippines.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications online for the opportunity to gain advanced education in Australia and contribute to the Philippines’ long-term development.
