Maynilad Water Services Inc. said several major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in its West Zone concession area are nearing completion, a development expected to improve water reliability, system resilience, and environmental protection for customers across Metro Manila and Cavite.
Among the projects in the final stages is the upgrade of the 205-million-liter-per-day CAMANA Water Reclamation Facility in Dagat-Dagatan, which serves the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, and Navotas. The facility is already the company’s largest wastewater treatment plant, and the upgrade will expand its capacity to treat wastewater in densely populated areas while supporting cleanup efforts in Manila Bay.
The company is also finishing upgrades at La Mesa Treatment Plant 2, which are aimed at modernizing the facility and strengthening its ability to provide a stable water supply across the West Zone.
In addition, Maynilad is completing portions of a primary distribution pipeline along Daang Hari in Las Piñas, which is part of the distribution network of the Poblacion Water Treatment Plant in Muntinlupa. Once integrated into the system, the pipeline segments will help improve water pressure and distribution in southern areas of the concession.
According to Maynilad president and CEO Ramoncito Fernandez, the projects are part of the company’s ongoing capital investment program aimed at strengthening water security, expanding wastewater services, and reducing non-revenue water.
For customers, the completion of these projects is expected to mean more reliable water supply, better water pressure in some areas, and improved wastewater treatment that helps protect the environment. For the company, the upgrades reinforce its infrastructure network and support long-term service improvements across its growing customer base.
Maynilad is the Philippines’ largest private water concessionaire by customer base, serving multiple cities in Metro Manila and Cavite.
