Light Rail Manila Corporation announced it will temporarily suspend operations of the LRT-1 from April 2 (Maundy Thursday) to April 5 (Easter Sunday), 2026, to carry out system-wide maintenance and upgrades.
The four-day shutdown will allow the company to conduct comprehensive inspections and implement critical improvements across the entire rail line.
Prior to the suspension, LRT-1 will operate on regular weekday schedules from March 30 (Holy Monday) to April 1 (Holy Wednesday). During this period, first trips will depart simultaneously from Dr. Santos Station and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 4:30 a.m. The last train will leave Dr. Santos Station at 10:30 p.m., while the final trip from Fernando Poe Jr. Station will depart at 10:45 p.m.
LRMC president and CEO Enrico R. Benipayo said the maintenance window will be used to carry out essential checks and upgrades aimed at improving service reliability and passenger safety. He added that trains and core systems will undergo thorough testing and inspection before operations resume.
Regular service is scheduled to resume on April 6, 2026. LRMC advised commuters to plan their trips in advance during the Holy Week period.
