Basic Energy Cadiz 1 Corporation (BECC), a wholly owned unit of Basic Energy Corp., has locked in a critical step for its 43-megaWatt-alternating current ground-mounted solar project in Cadiz City, formalizing key engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements that push the development into active buildout.
At a signing ceremony held at the Manila Polo Club, BECC inked contracts with Raynergy Engineering Co., Ltd. as offshore supplier and TBEA Subic Inc. as onshore contractor, completing the project’s core delivery framework.
The milestone follows BECC’s parent securing a Certificate of Authority as exclusive solar developer and winning a Certificate of Award under the government’s Green Energy Auction 4 (GEA 4). The award guarantees a structured pathway for power offtake, positioning the Cadiz project as a contributor to national renewable targets.
With EPC partners now formally engaged, early works are expected to begin imminently at the Negros Occidental site. The company said execution momentum remains aligned with its end-2026 completion target, a timeline increasingly critical as the Philippines accelerates its clean energy transition.
“The signing today signifies a major move forward,” said Oscar L. De Venecia Jr., BECC chairman, citing confidence in contractors and the project’s readiness to enter construction phase.
The 43MWac solar farm forms part of Basic Energy’s broader push to expand its renewable portfolio across the Visayas, reinforcing grid capacity while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The Cadiz development as a bellwether for execution pace following recent auction wins, with timely delivery seen as key to sustaining investor confidence in the country’s clean energy pipeline.
