GT Capital earnings rise on strong core units

GT Capital Holdings, Inc. posted a 17 percent increase in consolidated net income to P33.68 billion in 2025, driven by solid contributions from its core businesses, even as it navigated a complex global environment marked by rising uncertainties.

Core net income grew a steady 8 percent year on year to P30.47 billion, reflecting resilient demand across banking, automotive, and infrastructure segments. The conglomerate’s flagship units delivered record performances, led by Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company, which posted P49.7 billion in earnings, and Toyota Motor Philippines, which generated P19.0 billion on the back of record vehicle sales and expanding market share. Associate Metro Pacific Investments Corporation also reported a record P27.1 billion in core income, supported by gains in power, water, and healthcare.

Toyota’s performance was underpinned by a 5.2 percent rise in sales volume to 229,447 units, with electrified vehicles accounting for a growing share of demand. Its hybrid lineup continued to expand, reflecting shifting consumer preferences amid volatile fuel costs.

Property arm Federal Land, Inc. posted P522.3 million in net income, with momentum sustained by joint ventures in Bonifacio Global City and Makati, as well as continued project completions across major urban centers.

GT Capital declared total cash dividends of P14.16 per share, including a higher special dividend, underscoring confidence in its earnings base and cash flow strength.

“Our performance underscores the resilience of our portfolio,” said president Carmelo Maria Luza Bautista, noting that core businesses remained fundamentally sound despite global headwinds.

He said the group will maintain a cautious but opportunistic stance, focusing on disciplined capital allocation while positioning for growth in key sectors. “With a strong balance sheet and diversified portfolio, we are well-equipped to navigate volatility and capture emerging opportunities,” Bautista said.
