Meralco steps up wire clearing in Antipolo ahead of Holy Week

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has intensified its wire-clearing operations near Antipolo Cathedral in preparation for Holy Week.

The move aims to ensure the safety of devotees and motorists expected to flock to the church. The operation was carried out on March 27 along P. Oliveros Street.

Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares and Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga led the activity.

Zaldarriaga said Meralco will continue to work closely with local government units to conduct wire-clearing operations and keep communities safe, especially during the Holy Week period.

Since the start of the year, the company has removed more than 25,000 kilograms of unauthorized wire attachments. This effort is part of Meralco’s ongoing initiative to maintain the integrity of its facilities and ensure public safety.
