ABS-CBN board denies claims linked to family dispute

The board of ABS-CBN Corporation has denied claims tied to an internal dispute within the Lopez family, saying the media company is not involved in the case cited in recent reports.

In a statement, the board said allegations of “unresolved audit findings” are unfounded, stressing that no such findings exist. It also rejected claims that a proposed capital infusion could be used for payouts to certain executives, saying no such payments have been made or planned.

The clarification comes amid renewed public attention on the company, which has faced major challenges since it was forced off air in 2020 after lawmakers denied its franchise renewal—a development widely reported at the time.

The board emphasized that ABS-CBN should not be misrepresented in disputes it is not part of, adding that the company continues to focus on its operations and public service mission.

Despite ongoing difficulties, the board reiterated its support for management and its commitment to serving Filipinos, echoing the company’s long-standing public service mandate.
