DigiPlus Interactive Corp. is planning to expand beyond online gaming into physical or land-based entertainment as part of a new “omni-channel” strategy.
Company president Andy Tsui said the goal is to combine online and on-site gaming to create a more complete entertainment experience. This approach aims to keep users engaged longer and encourage higher spending by offering both digital and physical options in one platform.
The plan includes integrating its online services with land-based operations, similar to models used in other countries where gaming firms operate in both spaces. DigiPlus wants to become a “one-stop shop” for entertainment, allowing customers to switch between online and in-person gaming.
However, the expansion depends on the company’s acquisition of New Coast Hotel, which is still in progress. Any development plans for the property must be approved by the Philippine Competition Commission, a process expected to take six to nine months. Tsui said the earliest rollout could happen next year.
DigiPlus has already paid ₱6 billion toward the deal and expects to complete the final payment by late May or early June to the hotel’s owner, International Entertainment Corp..
The agreement, signed in November, involves ₱12 billion in convertible notes that would give DigiPlus about 54 percent ownership of IEC once converted. The company has also secured approval from Hong Kong regulators to take a controlling stake without making a full buyout offer to other shareholders.
