The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is increasing security and operational measures at airports nationwide ahead of the surge in passengers during the Holy Week travel period.
The agency expects passenger traffic to rise by 7 percent to 10 percent, with about 550,000 projected to pass through its terminals—higher than the 505,511 recorded during the same period in 2025.
To prepare, CAAP has ordered airport officials to step up operations by deploying more personnel, enforcing stricter security checks, and closely monitoring passenger flow to maintain safety and efficiency.
Help desks will also be set up in major airports to assist travelers, in coordination with airlines and government agencies, to avoid delays and disruptions.
CAAP director general Raul del Rosario said all airports under the agency are ready to handle the expected increase in passengers and ensure smooth travel.
The agency advised travelers to arrive at the airport at least two to three hours before departure, check flight updates, and prepare required documents in advance.
