At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz said the company is accelerating its shift to artificial intelligence (AI) to improve services and expand digital access for Filipinos.
Cruz noted that Globe is the first telecom company in the Philippines to appoint a Chief AI Officer, showing its commitment to making AI a core part of its operations. The company is also following global standards for responsible AI and has set up an AI Innovation Hub to ensure safe and sustainable development.
He said Globe is using AI to improve customer experience through personalized services, self-service platforms, and systems that detect network issues before they happen.
To support its AI expansion, Globe is training employees through internal programs and upgrading its systems. Early results include cost savings, hundreds of AI tools developed by staff, and international awards for innovation.
Looking ahead, Cruz said Globe aims to reach advanced AI capabilities where automated systems can create new business opportunities and help reduce environmental impact.
He added that Globe’s goal is to use AI responsibly to improve lives, promote inclusion, and support a more sustainable digital future for the Philippines.
