The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) said it will continue operating without interruption despite changing national energy conditions.
The terminal is powered by geothermal energy supplied by First Gen Corporation, helping ensure stable operations even if power issues arise.
Although there are no current orders for widespread power outages, PITX said it has prepared contingency measures. These include backup systems, coordination with transport partners, and added support for passengers.
PITX Chief chief operating officer Mohit Malhi said the terminal’s use of renewable energy supports both reliability and environmental goals.
As the country’s first landport, PITX plays a key role in transporting commuters. Its use of geothermal power helps reduce dependence on traditional fuel sources and improves resilience during global fuel supply changes.
The terminal is also promoting cleaner transport through Xpress EV, an electric vehicle service within PITX. This initiative aims to provide a more eco-friendly option for passengers.
PITX said it will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with government agencies to maintain safe and reliable travel for the public.
