Fuel prices are set to increase this week as global oil costs remain high tensions in the Middle East.
Petron announced it will raise prices starting Tuesday, adding P4.90 per liter for gasoline, P18.80 for diesel, and P8.10 for kerosene.
Jetti Petroleum will delay its price adjustment until Friday, increasing gasoline by P5.40 per liter and diesel by P18.60 per liter. The company said the delay aims to lessen the immediate impact on consumers, especially with the steep diesel increase.
Other fuel companies have not yet announced their price changes.
The Department of Energy has moved its scheduled briefing on fuel supply from Monday to Tuesday afternoon.
Industry sources say diesel supply remains tight due to strong demand, pushing prices higher than gasoline. Supply issues are expected to continue while shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains limited, a key route for global oil transport.
Latest data from the DOE show average fuel prices in Metro Manila at P91 per liter for gasoline, P128.80 for diesel, and P155 for kerosene as of early April.
