P500M wellness plant set for Tarlac pharmazone

A P500-million wellness manufacturing facility is set to rise in Tarlac, as Goodfield International Trading Corp. invests in the country’s first pharmaceutical economic zone, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said Tuesday.

The investment was formalized through a registration agreement signed on March 30 by PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and Goodfield President Melissa Yeung-Yap.

Goodfield will establish its production facility at Victoria Industrial Park in Barangay Baculong, Victoria, Tarlac. The plant will manufacture essential oils, liquid and bar soaps, candles, diffuser oils, and reed diffusers for the domestic market.

PEZA said the project is expected to generate more than 290 direct jobs and help strengthen wellness-focused manufacturing within the ecozone.

The company has also forged partnerships with Tarlac State University and Tarlac Agricultural University to advance research and foster community collaboration, including initiatives with farmers and indigenous groups.

Victoria Industrial Park is being developed as a dedicated pharmaceutical and wellness manufacturing hub under PEZA’s “pharmazone” program. The ecozone is also preparing for a planned expansion of around 60 to 100 hectares to accommodate additional locators.

Panga said the project supports the government’s push to boost domestic manufacturing under the Tatak Pinoy initiative.

“With PEZA’s full support and the steadfast commitment of Victoria Industrial Park, we continue to nurture enterprises that champion Filipino ingenuity and promote a thriving wellness and pharmaceutical ecosystem,” he said.
