VNH ramps up capability with Airbus H225 purchase

Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (VNH) has ordered three new Airbus H225 helicopters through its subsidiaries, Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company and Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company. The move aims to support the company’s growing offshore energy operations and replace older aircraft in its fleet.

The order strengthens a long-standing partnership between VNH and Airbus Helicopters, which has lasted more than 40 years. It is also part of VNH’s plan to modernize its fleet and improve heavy helicopter capabilities.

VNH CEO Kieu Dang Hung said the H225 has proven reliable and safe in offshore missions, and will play a key role in the company’s future operations. Airbus Helicopters CEO Matthieu Louvot welcomed the continued partnership, highlighting the aircraft’s strong performance in demanding conditions.

The new helicopters will join VNH’s existing Airbus fleet, which includes Super Puma and H155 models. They will be used for offshore transport, search and rescue, and other utility missions.

The H225 is known for its long range, high payload capacity, and advanced systems that improve safety and reduce pilot workload. More than 360 units are currently in service worldwide, with both civilian and military operators.
