AC Mobility accelerates nationwide EV ecosystem buildout drive

AC Mobility said the shift to electric mobility in the Philippines is gathering pace as the company ramps up investments in infrastructure critical to supporting broader electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

Speaking at the Manila International Auto Show on Thursday, company president and CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala said the firm’s efforts over the past year have gone beyond brand-building, focusing instead on expanding its footprint across key cities, strengthening its dealer network, and improving access to new energy vehicles for Filipino consumers.

“What began as a vision is now taking shape,” Zobel said, emphasizing that EV adoption hinges not only on the vehicles themselves but on the ecosystem that supports them.

“This goes beyond the vehicles—it’s about the ecosystem,” he said. “AC Mobility is at the forefront of building that ecosystem to support every Filipino EV owner’s journey, from purchase to charging and beyond.”

Central to this strategy is the continued rollout of the company’s EV Spine network, its nationwide charging infrastructure platform. In just over two years, AC Mobility has installed charging stations in more than 160 locations across the country, marking a significant step toward enabling long-distance electric travel.

Zobel said the company will continue to invest in charging hubs nationwide to make electric mobility more practical and accessible. “Our goal is to allow Filipinos to drive electric across the Philippines,” he said.

He added that scaling EV adoption will require more than advances in vehicle technology, pointing instead to the importance of convenience, reliability, and consumer confidence.

“With the growing network, the question of whether EV travel across the Philippines is possible is being answered,” Zobel said. “Today, that answer is a resounding yes.”
