San Mateo residents gain steady 24/7 water as major pipeline project is completed

A major water infrastructure project has been completed in Barangay Silangan in Rizal province, delivering a significant boost to water supply for hundreds of residents.

Manila Water announced the completion of a 924.5-meter mainline extension along AFP Road in Banyuhay Subdivision, a project aimed at improving water access and reliability in San Mateo. Construction began in April 2025 and completed in January this year.

The new pipeline is expected to benefit more than 160 service connections, serving nearly 1,000 residents who can now enjoy stable, 24/7 water supply—addressing previous issues of inconsistent service.

The project forms part of Manila Water’s broader push to strengthen its distribution network across Rizal, particularly in fast-growing communities. The company said these upgrades are designed to minimize service disruptions and ensure steady water delivery even during peak demand.

Meanwhile, progress continues on another large-scale project in Antipolo City. The mainline extension from Cabading to Heroes Ville along Marcos Highway is now over 90 percent complete, with about 3.6 kilometers of pipelines already installed. Portions of the system have been activated since March 2026 to serve new commercial establishments.

Additional expansion works are also underway in Baras and Barangay Calawis, with several pipeline packages scheduled for completion between the second and third quarters of 2026. These projects are expected to further widen water service coverage and strengthen supply reliability across Rizal.

Manila Water said these developments are part of its long-term strategy to secure dependable and sustainable water services for communities amid growing demand.
