PAL opens new route to Palau, resumes Saipan flights

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched a new route connecting Manila to Palau, expanding its reach in the Pacific region. Palau, particularly its main hub Koror, is known for its rich marine life and popular diving spots.

PAL president Richard Nuttall said the new Manila–Palau service strengthens Manila’s role as a key transit hub in the region and supports its growing reputation as a destination for medical tourism. He added that the airline continues to serve as a link between Pacific communities and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Alongside the new route, PAL has also resumed flights between Manila and Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands, restoring its presence in the area.

The Manila–Palau and Manila–Saipan routes are expected to improve connectivity between the Philippines and Pacific island territories, including the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Flights on both routes will use Airbus A321ceo aircraft, offering business and economy class seating, along with wireless in-flight entertainment.

PAL said the expansion also boosts its cargo services, helping position Manila as a hub for shipments to and from the Pacific.

The airline currently operates flights to other Pacific destinations, including Guam and Honolulu, as part of its broader plan to expand its network across North America and the Pacific.
