AirAsia dangles affordable tickets well past Christmas and New Year to boost sales

AirAsia Philippines on Tuesday projected flying some 450,000 domestic and international passengers in the run up to the long Christmas and New Year holidays.

The budget airline also said it will keep ticket prices affordable, especially as more travelers plan their flights within the first three months of 2024.

“It is our commitment to provide our guests with the lowest ticket price in the market while maintaining our positive on-time performance and utmost consideration for safety. We know that a lot of Filipinos save money and allot time for quick get-aways either in the provinces or their bucket list (destinations) abroad,” AirAsia country head for communications and public affairs first officer Steve Dailisan said.

“For this reason, AirAsia Philippines is offering various promos which will delight our guests and help them fulfill their travel plans,”’he added.

AirAsia Philippines is also advising guests to book their flights and schedule travel time ahead of the holiday rush and avoid travel on high traffic dates such as Christmas and New Year’s Eve to avoid the added congestion.

Last year during the Christmas holiday peak, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) reported accommodating 125,000 daily passenger arrivals and departures.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) logged 32,000 arrivals on Christmas Eve alone.

“While we cannot avoid last-minute changes in travel arrangements, it really pays off to plan ahead. This way you can still get the best value for your money and foresee days that are less of a hassle for travel,” Dailisan added.

For those extending their vacation after the holidays, AirAsia is offering 22 percent off on flights from P79 to P449 one-way base fare domestic and from P479 to P2,838 for international flights–with the AirAsia 22nd birthday sale program.

Simply book flights from 27 November to 3 December and travel between 8 January to 30 September 2024.
