GoTyme Bank rounds 2023 with P10 billion in deposits

The digital lender GoTyme Bank has rounded 2023 with aggregate deposits of P10 billion.

This was reported by JG Summit Holdings president and CEO Lance Gokongwei who, only months earlier, posted the first million-peso deposits at one of only six digital lenders licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

“A shoutout to all you wonderful humans out there. Domo arigato to our GoTyme Bank colleagues for reaching 2 million customers and 10 billion pesos in deposits in 14 months!” the executive at one of the country’s largest conglomerates said in his social media account, LinkedIn.

The digital lender reported its first million-peso deposit in August last year and claimed having generated the target milestone in only six months from when they first welcomed the first depositor in October 2022.

GoTyme Bank co-CEO Albert Tinio has since challenged his colleagues to hit the P10 million deposit milestone the soonest possible.

Lance Gokongwei’s Japanese quip has reference to the digital lender’s AI-driven app designed to address whatever issues its depositors have on their deposit accounts. Legacy banks are famed for their lack of empathy on depositor woes such as funds withdrawn without their knowledge but often eventually traced to inadvertent depositor behavior that could have been resolved sooner and with less stress were the legacy lenders more helpful.

The GoTyme Bank commitment, it has been reported, commits to address alleged corporate insensitivity with the help of Roboto the AI-driven app.
