Meralco solar subsidiary partners with EKPI in clean energy project

MSpectrum, Inc., the solar arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has teamed up with Edward Keller Philippines Inc. (EKPI) to install a 630 kW solar facility at the Carmelray Industrial Park in Laguna. The project, scheduled for completion by Q2 2025, is set to produce 714,553 kWh of clean energy annually, significantly reducing EKPI’s energy costs by P1.2 million a year and cutting its carbon footprint by 422 metric tons.

This reduction in emissions is equivalent to planting 23,000 trees or taking 2.03 million kilometers off vehicle travel annually. The project will also enable EKPI to lock in energy costs for the next decade, providing stability amid potential power disruptions. MSpectrum’s Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Henry T. Panlilio, celebrated the partnership, emphasizing its role in helping EKPI meet its sustainability goals.
