Australia powers up fintech innovation in the Philippines

The Australian Embassy proudly supports the pioneering partnership between GCash, Xendit, and Ezypay, an award-winning Australian financial technology company. This collaboration marks a major milestone in the Philippine digital payments landscape, as GCash becomes the first to support recurring payments, unlocking new possibilities for businesses across the country.

Ezypay, a key member of the Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (ANZCHAM), has been instrumental in forging this alliance. ANZCHAM’s platform facilitates valuable networking opportunities and promotes collaboration between Australian and Philippine businesses, reinforcing the economic ties between the two nations.

“Through strategic partnerships like this, Australia is advancing fintech in the Philippines,” said Australian Ambassador to the Philippines, HK Yu PSM, FCPA (Aust). “Australia’s strong fintech ecosystem fosters innovation and collaboration, enabling companies like Ezypay to provide solutions that enhance financial inclusion and drive economic growth in the region.”

The collaboration also builds on the memorandum of understanding signed in November 2023 between FinTech Alliance.ph and Austrade. This landmark agreement aims to strengthen fintech policy, promote knowledge sharing, improve access to capital, and address regulatory challenges in the Philippines.

Looking forward, the partnership between Australia and the Philippines will continue to evolve, leveraging the MOU to accelerate digital transformation and financial inclusion. By working together with organisations like ANZCHAM, both countries aim to create a more connected and prosperous future, fostering innovation and growth across the region.

The Australian government encourages fintech companies and stakeholders in both nations to seize this moment and work together to transform the financial landscape, paving the way for a more inclusive economic future for all.
