The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines on Friday announced the opening of applications for the 2025 Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship in the Japanese Studies and Teacher Training categories.
For Japanese Studies, applicants must:
- Be under 30 years old by April 2, 2025.
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program related to Japanese language and/or culture.
- Have majored in a Japanese-related field for at least one year as of September 1, 2025.
For Teacher Training, applicants must:
- Be under 35 years old by April 2, 2025.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in elementary or secondary schools as of October 1, 2025.
- Be currently employed as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school.
The deadline for submission of applications is February 14, 2025. All applications must be sent physically through courier or delivered directly to the Embassy.
