AirAsia Philippines is fully prepared to handle the influx of passengers returning from their holiday travels, with a dedicated team standing by at key airports to ensure smooth operations during the peak period. Starting today, the airline anticipates a surge in passenger traffic as the holiday season winds down.
From 16 December 2024, to 6 January 2025, AirAsia surpassed its 300,000 passenger target, serving over 400,000 instead, demonstrating a strong rebound in travel enthusiasm among Filipinos. The airline reported smooth operations during Christmas and New Year, reaffirming its commitment to providing quality service and affordable travel options.
“We expect passenger traffic to remain high at our check-in counters through January 10th, as many of our kababayans extend their holiday leaves to spend more time with family in the provinces,” said Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines communications and public affairs head. “We are ready to continue supporting their travel needs during the post-holiday period and into the lively fiesta season in destinations like Kalibo, Cebu, and Bohol.”
As the Philippines prepares for the vibrant fiesta season, AirAsia remains dedicated to offering affordable flights to the popular destinations. The airline also welcomes the Civil Aeronautics Board’s (CAB) recent advisory on fuel surcharges, which ensures pricing stability for travelers. Domestic fuel surcharges range from P117 to P342, while international flights see surcharges between P385.7 and P2,867.82.
AirAsia continues to lead as a budget carrier in the ASEAN region, connecting passengers across more than 130 destinations and expanding its global network with over 200 aircraft. With its ongoing commitment to accessibility and affordable travel, the airline is poised to meet the growing demand throughout the festive and upcoming travel seasons.
