Grab Philippines is revolutionizing inclusive transportation with the launch of the Grab CommuniKit, a visual communication tool designed to bridge the communication gap between deaf driver-partners and passengers.
The Grab CommuniKit, which includes a set of easy-to-read postcards featuring common ride-related phrases and requests, ensures that deaf drivers can deliver a seamless experience for passengers. This initiative, co-created with organizations like DeafED Philippines and the National Association of Sign Language Interpreters, highlights Grab’s commitment to inclusivity and safety.
Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines country head, emphasized the company’s dedication to empowering marginalized groups, stating, “We want to ensure that no one is left behind in the digital economy, and that includes our deaf driver-partners who contribute significantly to our fleet.”
The kit has already garnered praise from driver-partners like Vic Diaz, a deaf Grab driver for almost a decade, who noted it significantly improved his ability to connect with passengers and provide exceptional service.
This innovation positions Grab as a leader in inclusive transportation, fostering a more accessible environment for both drivers and riders.
