Manulife on Friday acknowledged that over 75 percent of its global workforce is now actively engaged with generative AI (GenAI) tools, including ChatMFC, its proprietary AI assistant introduced in 2024. This development is part of the company’s broader strategy to integrate AI across all levels of its workforce, enhancing efficiency, driving innovation, and delivering significant business impact.
The company has been investing in AI for nearly a decade, embedding it within teams, business units, and operations worldwide. Its AI-driven culture is transforming workflows by automating routine tasks and empowering employees to focus on strategic work. With a focus on responsible AI governance, Manulife’s multi-billion-dollar investment in digital transformation includes deploying over 35 GenAI use cases globally, with plans to introduce an additional 70 by the end of 2025.
The global AI strategy also includes a skills-building program, a dedicated team of nearly 200 data scientists, and customer-facing tools that improve service quality. The company anticipates a threefold return on its AI investments by 2027, reinforcing its position as a leader in AI adoption within the financial services sector.
Through its commitment to responsible AI, Manulife is set to continue leveraging AI for sustainable, scalable growth, improving both customer experiences and operational efficiency across its global markets.
