Globe widens connectivity across PH, powers 5G growth and digital inclusion

Globe Telecom has significantly expanded its mobile and home internet infrastructure, reinforcing its role as a leading digital enabler across the Philippines.

As of March 2025, Globe’s 5G network now covers 98.71 percent of Metro Manila and 97.97 percent of key urban areas in the Visayas and Mindanao, following the deployment of 235 new 5G sites. These upgrades now support over 9.5 million 5G devices, translating to faster, more reliable mobile experiences for millions of users across the country.

The company also rolled out 487 new cell towers and upgraded 3,940 sites with LTE enhancements in the first quarter alone, integrating advanced technologies like 32T32R Massive MIMO to bolster network speed and stability, particularly in high-demand areas.

“Connectivity is no longer a privilege, it’s a right,” said Carl Cruz, Globe president and CEO. “This is about more than speed — it’s about nationwide inclusion and future-readiness.”

Under the Private Sector Advisory Council’s Connectivity Plan Task Force, Globe has activated 600 new cell sites in geographically isolated and underserved regions, delivering critical access to services in remote mountain and island communities. The target is 700 sites by end-2025, reinforcing Globe’s commitment to closing the digital divide.

Globally recognized at the Mobile World Congress 2025, Globe was awarded as the Philippines’ Most Consistent Mobile Network (2022–2024) and received accolades for its energy-efficient, AI-ready optical infrastructure — signaling corporate excellence and technological foresight.

These efforts not only boost Globe’s commercial leadership in telecom services but also position the company as a strategic driver of national development through inclusive digital transformation.
