PH retail meets Thai travel in new Rustan’s-Anantara deal

Luxury retailer Rustan Commercial Corp. has partnered with Thailand’s Anantara Vacation Club (AVC), Asia’s premier vacation ownership program under Minor International PCL, a development that aligns retail luxury with exclusive travel experience across Asia and beyond.

The agreement was signed by Matthijs de Man, head of commercial and innovation at AVC, and Michael Huang, senior vice president of support and development at Rustan’s.

Under the deal, Anantara will offer exclusive travel packages and vacation ownership opportunities tailored to Rustan’s frequent shopper program members. These will be promoted through dedicated in-store displays, digital campaigns, and special event sponsorships, with Anantara setting up branded spaces in select Rustan’s locations to engage customers directly.

“This is a perfect fit,” said Winston Tsang, COO of AVC. “Rustan’s customers are discerning and appreciate the luxury of going on holiday and spending time with their loved ones.”

Huang emphasized the commercial synergy: “Anantara Vacation Club is an ideal partner for providing our shoppers with enhanced holiday experiences in Thailand and beyond.”

The alliance represents a deepening of commercial ties between the Philippine luxury retail and Thai travel sectors, underscoring a broader regional push toward cross-sector experiential offerings. Established in 2010, Anantara Vacation Club allows point owners access to club resorts across Thailand, Indonesia, Dubai, and New Zealand, along with over 4,300 affiliated properties globally.
