Converge extends anti-fraud training to educators

Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a leading fiber broadband provider, reinforced its corporate social responsibility and digital advocacy by extending online fraud awareness training to educators, highlighting its broader commercial commitment to safe digital environments.

In partnership with ScamWatch Pilipinas, Converge conducted anti-fraud training for teachers and staff of Anunas Elementary School in Angeles, Pampanga on 13 June, as part of its participation in Brigada Eskwela. The session covered phishing, identity theft, love scams, and online shopping fraud, with ScamWatch co-convenor Jocel De Guzman providing practical prevention tips.

According to Converge VP and head of corporate communications Jay-Anne Encarnado, the initiative aligns with the company’s mission to empower the education sector not just with connectivity, but also with the digital skills to navigate online threats. “We support teachers by equipping them with tools to stay safe online – an advocacy that’s close to our heart as a technology company,” she noted.

This initiative is a continuation of Converge’s engagement with Anunas Elementary, following its Project PIGLET digital literacy drive last February. With the school serving over 3,000 students on a triple-shift schedule, Principal Victoria G. Torres emphasized the importance of such partnerships in addressing both professional and personal growth needs of educators.

The training supports Converge’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 1 (No Poverty), as part of its broader community impact strategy to bridge the digital divide.
