China Banking Corp. (Chinabank), the country’s fourth-largest private universal bank, has introduced an online account application feature through its My CBC and My CBC Online platforms, significantly enhancing customer onboarding and reinforcing its digital-first strategy.
The new feature enables Filipinos aged 18 and above, including OFWs and their beneficiaries, to open a Chinabank ATM account or OKS Peso Savings account without visiting a branch or submitting physical documents. Only one valid ID is required, and no initial deposit is needed. Applications are processed within two banking days, pending identity verification and document authentication in compliance with regulatory standards.
Jay Sabido, Chinabank’s innovation and transformation officer, highlighted the strategic importance of this upgrade: “We are lowering the barriers to owning a bank account so more people can enjoy the financial security, stability, and flexibility of having a financial partner like Chinabank.”
This move aims to expand the bank’s reach, improve client convenience, and drive operational efficiency—key components of Chinabank’s ongoing digital transformation.
