The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reports steady progress in the Davao City Bypass Construction Project (DCBCP), a flagship infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity and mobility in the Davao Region, Mindanao.
“The Davao City Bypass is more than just a traffic solution — it is a catalyst for regional development,” said DPWH senior undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, emphasizing its broader socio-economic impact.
Key updates from the multi-package project include:
- Contract Package I (7.9 km, including twin tunnels and bridges) has reached 60.50 percent completion.
- Package I-2 (11.9 km, 7 bridges) stands at 3.35 percent, with early works ongoing since December 2024.
- Package I-3 (5.5 km, bridge, cut-and-cover tunnels), launched in December 2023, has logged 2.8 percent progress, with access and excavation activities underway.
- Package II-1 leads with 79.70 percent accomplishment, comprising 1.4 km of road and seven bridges. It is on track for early completion by January 2026.
- Package II-2 follows closely at 71.92 percent, covering 2.5 km of road, seven bridges, and three overpasses. Completion is targeted by July 2026.
The final segment, Package II-3, which will connect the bypass to Panabo City, is pending and expected to begin soon, reinforcing the project’s momentum toward full completion by end-2026.
