Globe secures GSMA certification for number verification API

Globe Telecom has received the GSMA Open Gateway Certification for its upcoming Number Verification API, marking a key milestone in the company’s efforts to bolster digital security in the Philippines. The certification confirms full compliance with Version 1.0 of the GSMA’s global technical standards, ensuring the API is secure, interoperable, and developer-friendly.

Globe emphasized the certification as a strategic move in its ongoing push to support the secure expansion of digital financial services nationwide.

“This is a testament to Globe’s dedication to building safer digital ecosystems,” said KD Dizon, head of Globe Business. “We are laying the groundwork for secure, standards-based tools that will empower our partners and strengthen public trust in digital financial services.”

Henry Calvert, head of Networks at GSMA, commended the telco for achieving certification, stating, “Certification of CAMARA APIs plays a critical role in giving enterprises confidence that their services are built on standardized, interoperable foundations.”

The Number Verification API will form part of Globe’s broader enterprise strategy, offering advanced API-based solutions aimed at fraud prevention and secure digital integration.
