Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon announced Wednesday that 300,000 additional Beep cards will be distributed to MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 stations next week to resolve the ongoing shortage that has caused major delays for commuters.
Following President Marcos’ directive to address the issue urgently, Dizon gave assurance that the shortage of reloadable smart rail cards will be resolved by next week.
He also warned against syndicates hoarding and reselling Beep cards for up to P300 each, vowing a crackdown in coordination with the PNP and SAICT. Dizon added that the DOTr will work with online platforms to take down unauthorized sellers
