Domestic boutique charter airline Sunlight Air and consumer finance app BillEase are partners in a venture enabling tourists to book flights and pay later even without a credit card.
Sunlight Air services the Busuanga (Coron), San Vicente (ElnIdo), Camiguin and Siargao routes on charter flight basis.
BillEase is an on-demand consumer credit app that provides personal loans, e-wallet top-ups, prepaid load, and gaming credits as well as buy now, pay later (BNPL) which allows customers to avail of installment plans even without a debit or credit card.
Through the partnership, customers can now purchase Sunlight Air’s SmartPass in an easy and cardless option. BillEase app users will only have to settle a minimum down payment, then split the rest of the payments for up to 12 months of customizable installments.
Sunlight Air SmartPass is a single-use voucher that provides passengers with added flexibility of flying wherever and whenever they want. It comes in a digital or printed booklet as one voucher gives passengers the opportunity to choose from any of Sunlight Air’s destinations.
Each SmartPass booklet contains 10 pre-paid one-way flight vouchers and one SmartPass voucher equivalent to a one-way ticket that includes a 7kilograms hand-carry and 10kilograms check-in baggage allowance.
To avail of a Sunlight Air SmartPass and pay later using BillEase, the steps are as follows:
- Download the BillEase app on your mobile phone and complete the simple quick registration process.
- Once your account is approved, go to https://smartpass.shop/product/smartpass/ and select the Sunlight Air SmartPass variation (digital or printed booklet) and the quantity.
- At checkout, choose BillEase as the payment method and choose the payment plan.
- Once confirmed, the digital SmartPass will be sent to you via email within 24 hours. For printed SmartPass booklet, it will be delivered to you within 3-7 days via local courier or you also have an option for pick-up.
With more long weekends in store this year, tourism officials project a boost in local tourism benefiting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially in tourism hotspots.
