ACCIONA Energía has secured a 20-year power supply contract for two renewable energy projects totaling 281 MW in the Philippines. The award was granted through Round 4 of the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP).
The contract covers the 101 MW Kalayaan 2 wind farm in Laguna, which is already under construction, and the 180 MWp Daanbantayan solar project in Cebu, set to begin construction before the end of 2025. The agreement provides long-term revenue certainty for both developments and supports the country’s push to expand clean and reliable energy.
Beyond these projects, ACCIONA Energía has more than 2 GW of additional capacity under development in the Philippines. The company recently reorganized its partnerships across Southeast Asia to strengthen its presence in key markets such as the Philippines and Thailand.
ACCIONA has operated in the Philippines since 2016, delivering major infrastructure projects like the Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway and several water treatment plants. Its foundation, acciona.org, has also provided electricity access to around 3,500 remote households, small businesses, and community facilities since 2021 through partnerships with local and international organizations.
ACCIONA Energía is the world’s largest pure-play renewable energy company, with 15.1 GW of installed capacity across 24 countries. The company focuses on custom clean-energy solutions and adheres to high environmental, social, and governance standards.
