A Vietnamese subsidiary of Jollibee Foods Corp., Highlands Coffee, ranked ninth in Fortune Magazine’s inaugural Asia 100 Best Companies to Work For in Southeast Asia. Six Philippine companies also made the list.
The Filipino firms recognized were Balibago Waterworks System, Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, Universal Robina Corp., Megaworld Corp., and the business services companies Infinit-O and PeoplePartners.
Fortune said the ranking highlights companies that deliver strong business results while creating exceptional workplaces. The list is based on the Great Place to Work model, which measures employee trust, pride, and camaraderie. This year’s results drew feedback from 1.3 million employees across more than 450 companies in the region.
Among the top 100 companies, Trust Index scores ranged from 80 percent to 92 percent, well above the Southeast Asian average of 67 percent.
Megaworld noted that its inclusion followed a 94 percent approval rating in its Great Place to Work certification—the highest among major Philippine real estate developers. Its hotel arm, Megaworld Hotels and Resorts, was also cited for high employee satisfaction compared with other hospitality employers in the region.
Megaworld president and CEO Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso said the recognition reflects the company’s commitment to supporting employees and fostering success “with purpose.”
